Trip Overview

The Jugal Himal Basecamp Trek is a less-traveled and remote trekking route in Nepal, offering pure Himalayan wilderness and cultural authenticity. Located northeast of Kathmandu, the Jugal Himal range is home to peaks such as Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637m), and Madiya (6,257m).

This trek is ideal for adventurers who want to explore untouched trails, traditional Tamang villages, dense forests, alpine meadows, and breathtaking mountain landscapes without the crowds of popular trekking routes. The trail leads to Jugal Himal Basecamp (4,000m–4,500m), from where you get spectacular views of Dorje Lakpa and surrounding peaks.

Since the area is less developed for trekking, accommodation is basic (camping or simple teahouses), but the raw beauty and cultural immersion make it a rewarding experience.
