Trip Overview

The Around Dhaulagiri Trek is one of Nepal’s most challenging and adventurous treks, circling Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the seventh-highest peak in the world. Known for its remote trails, dramatic landscapes, and high mountain passes, this trek is designed for experienced trekkers seeking an authentic Himalayan expedition away from crowded routes.

The journey begins in lowland villages with terraced fields and lush forests, then gradually climbs into rugged alpine terrain, glaciers, and remote valleys. The highlights include French Pass (5,360m) and Dhampus Pass (5,200m), along with breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and Annapurna ranges. Trekkers also experience the hospitality of traditional Gurung, Magar, and Thakali communities.

This trek is physically demanding, involving long days of walking, high altitude, and some sections requiring basic mountaineering skills. It is ideal for those who want a less-traveled, adventurous route with extraordinary rewards.
