Trip Overview

The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is one of Nepal’s most remote and rewarding adventures, taking you deep into the eastern Himalayas to the foothills of the world’s third-highest mountain, Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586m). This trek offers a rare opportunity to experience unspoiled mountain wilderness, diverse ecosystems, and authentic Himalayan culture away from the crowded trails.

Traversing through subtropical forests, rhododendron-filled valleys, high alpine pastures, and glacial landscapes, the trek leads to both the North and South Base Camps of Kanchenjunga. The region is rich in biodiversity, home to endangered species like the red panda and snow leopard, as well as traditional Limbu and Rai communities.

Due to its remote and challenging nature, this trek is recommended for experienced trekkers with good fitness levels. The best seasons for the Kanchenjunga Trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November).
